Active orthodontic treatment does not necessarliy change your DRC (Dental Readiness Classification), but does make you "non-deployable" from the standpoint that you would need bands/brackets removed and retainers prior to deploying.

Do you know if having braces will prevent me from going to my reclass mmore school. I'm getting braces and I'm scheduled to leave in about 6 months to AIT. Would the braces stop me from going?

Shouldn't. Again, they don't change your DRC and should only be a problem on deployment. That being said, there may be minimal (no?) orthodontic support where you are going for AIT - do you want to risk breaking a wire or bracket and not being able to have it repaired? I would recommend delaying the orthodontics until you return from AIT.

Definitely Class 2, due to the fact that their MAY be a dental emergency in the future. However I would doubt a class 3, considering you could go long periods without them causing a major issue.
I would just goto medical and find out.
