My Battalion and Brigade have been placing a large focus into the education of the many Army Doctrine Publications, which I believe have a great insight for the future of the Army. From what I have studied, the authors have great plans for the outlook of the Army. I wanted to know what others may know about the ADP selection, and how you feel about them.

Well I don't have much experience with ADPs but I did some research and found this link.

From what I've seen so far, the content and functionality of the media is great! Hasn't crashed on me yet and I haven't found dozens of typos...so it's basically nothing like SSD :-)

I agree with the previous posters that it's just a re-package of existing doctrine.  Mission Command, Leader Attributes/Competencies, and other important updates aside.

However, I am in love like a teenage boy with an older woman.  This makes the entire concept of how we operate accessible to the average Soldier.  I'm in electronic maintenance, so ADP 4-0 doesn't really tell me how to do my job.  It tells me why to do my job, what the greater impact of my job is, who supports my job, and how I can use the philosophy behind this to do my job better.

You can explain it to a new Soldier all you want, but until you have some black on white that actually lays out the reason for their existence in the Army, it's tough going.

I don't want points for this, but I really would like more people to weigh in on the topic.
