When it comes to Military habits, there's always one:

For me, it's getting up early. I like to get out on my walks, come back and make some breakfast for the family. Another is the time management.

Easy one, 15 minutes early is 'on time'. Period. Anything short of that is LATE!

If you are not 10 minutes early, you are 5 minutes late....

At my current company, I have to try and intentionally be late, so that I'll arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior. Most people come into meetings exactly on time or 1 minute late and I have to hold myself back from yelling at each of them.

Walking in step with anyone, arriving chronically early, light sleeper and I cannot fill a water bottle without putting the cap on part way and squeezing the water out the threads like we did for NBC on our canteens. Have had several people look at that one funny at a water fountain.

Marching skills in or out of a formation. For example, going down the aisle of a mall and then do a change step to get back in step with the person you are walking next too !

MAJ Robert (Bob) Petrarca I went on to work in the Fire Service, where 24 hour time is pretty well standard, so that was one I didn't have to give up. What was hard to get used to was using "plain language" on the radio.

Remember being caught at front gate for 100% vehicle inspection for some reason or another. Of course traffic backed up and lots of people late. Wasn't an acceptable excuse for the Colonel though. You should have left earlier......
