I'm a 35M returning from DLI. I get back to my guard unit in PA in about two weeks. Are there any suggestions for schools or training opportunities for 35M that I can look into requesting.

having asked this question almost 10 years ago, how would you answer knowing what you know now?

Well the first obvious choice would be SOC. After you get back from SOC, you want to go to Defense Strategic Debriefer's Course (DSDC) would is sponsored by HT-JCOE but taught by the DIA. Once you DSDC, after that you can pick any class you want offered by HT-JCOE. But if anything you want to go to DSDC because that class will open the door wide open for slots for places like the DIA 2X in Germany or something. After DSDC, you can pretty muck pick whatever class HT-JCOE offers depending on what your unit's focus is or what you want your focus to be. Hope this helps

I posed a similar question a while ago; glad to see I'm not the only one interested in getting more training. I'd agree with SPC Yelle's comment to go to DSDC. A lot of folks brush it off as a "beginner's course," but I still consider it one of the more challenging training environments I've had to go through; I've received hits from recruiters just for having it listed on my resume. I'm not sure how Guard units are with sending soldiers to training, but definitely look for the HT-JCOE course catalog and the Foundry courses. I just got reminded about Foundry courses, and to the best of my knowledge, those are attractive to unit commanders because they don't have any cost to the unit and the soldier still gets some worthwhile training out of it.
