Place your hands in your pockets while your unit is formed. Ok, I deserve a trip to Rally Point hell for that one, but I couldn't stop myself. It's a retired Engineer disease.......

Yeah, it was uncalled for. So here's the deal. Enlisted personnel don't have the ability to move inter-service like junior Commissioned Officers used too, and I'm not sure they can still do it either. The moment you leave the Army you are prior service and have a DD214 and an RE Code that reflects your status. The Air Force has never been big on prior service enlistments and they follow their open slots and regulations just like we follow AR 601-210. So, the SSG's below are giving good advice as to who can find the correct way to transition you in the "right direction". I would also seek out an Army and Air force Recruiter residing in the same building and have a conference with both of them (at the same time). Manning situations change daily in both Recruiting Commands. Good luck, and sorry about the Air Force Joke.

Simply seek out an in service recruiter from the service you wish to join.

Talk to your unit Career Consoler or Retention NCO and ask about your options to do a branch transfer or go to your local Recruiting Station and ask the Air Force Recruiter.
