I've always been amused at the irony of Federal taxes being withheld from my paycheck, Sir. Basically, I'm paying a portion of my own check if you get my drift. People complain that they are "paying the salary of Military and Retirees". So am I!

MSG? I think we should get tax free or a reduced rate of taxes on retirement pay. I believe todays's E7 make several hundred more than I do. We can't keep up and pay raised are getting slower and slower. A auto deduction of about 50 to 69 percent would br nice.

I was happier than a well slopped pig to get to E-8. The difference between Retired E-7 than E-8 was about $400 a MONTH when I checked out of Hotel Army. My personal needs are minimal. I didn't retire to win the lottery. I just wanted to get my due that was promised to me. My Oath to the Constitution still stands as mutually agreed from way back in 1979...

well, we're supposed to be about 1% of the population so they won't miss the money right? I did enjoy that little perk while deployed.
That said, we're only 1% of the population and not a voting block. That's why our civilians haven't received a pay increase in a long time and our benefits are being reduced. At least I get 20% discount at Jason's Deli.
