Do you think a politician should be required to send their kids to war if they commit to it?

No. We don't conscript people. Why punish someone for the actions of their parent? We all signed up knowing it was a possibility.

SPC Christopher Jackson - Even so, what right would we have to send someone to war because their parent is an idiot? When we signed our contracts we all saw the paragraph "I understand I may be called to go into conflict under order of the president". We all signed anyway. I don't think we need to conscript the children of inept politicians. We need to learn to vote for better and more highly qualified leaders.

SFC (Join to see) Not as a punishment but as a "fair and equitable" means of running our services. too many politicians started wars back in my day, geez I'm old to be saying this. But politicians have always started wars for one reason or other. But if a politicians kid was going to be made to go, that should surely be a factor in deciding if a war is worth it. but yes, we are conscript.

SPC Christopher Jackson - I don't see anything fair and equitable about forcing someone to serve in the military if serving isn't their choice. "I'm forcing your kid to serve so you don't vote for war" doesn't pass muster. We don't have a draft. We are a 100% volunteer military. Forcing someone to serve because their daddy might send us to war is not acceptable.

Why do you think that a person should have to do anything because of their parent's views?
Th children of politicians should be treated the same as the children of anyone else.
