There are some great military quotes out there. I have always loved this one! I also reserve the right to post more. What's yours?

1st Lt (Join to see), although attributed to Lieutenant General Lewis "Chesty" Puller, USMC, there's some controversy surrounding this quote's origin and it may have come originally from Major General O.P. Smith, USMC. Here are two of Chesty's that are known to be his, that echo the same sentiments:
“All right, they’re on our left, they’re on our right, they’re in front of us, they’re behind us…they can’t get away this time.”
“They are in front of us, behind us, and we are flanked on both sides by an enemy that outnumbers us 29:1. They can’t get away from us now!”
General Creighton Abrams, USA, is quoted as having similarly said, "They've got us surrounded again, the poor bastards", although this is also attributed to an unidentified medic during the Battle of Bastogne in WWII. COL Lee Flemming

Gen Smith was also quoted at Chosin as saying "Retreat, hell! We're not retreating, we're just advancing in a different direction." It was due to them and US Army attached unit RCT 31 (TF Faith/ Maclean) being surrounded by approx. 10 Chinese divisions.

Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem.

That's got to be the most accurate statement ever. Just did a drill it went something like this. Private to Private, "Hey battle do you know what we're doing after this?" "I don't know man, ask the Specialist". Private to Specialist, "Hey man we complete [Insert Whatever] what are we doing now?" "I don't man nobody tells me shit". Private to Corporal, "Hey Corporal etc..." "I don't know I can't get a hold of thee Sergeant".
Private to self "Well fuck..."
