Why did Ft.Campbell lose all paid parachutist positions? (Except 160th and 5th SFG)

I'm going to take a massive HEAT round for this, but because we don't have the budget for non essentials, and large scale Airborne operations haven't been relevant for a long while..

Hell, when was the last "real" small scale airborne operation? Wasn't it Panama?
As for that mustard stain that unit got in Iraq for "jumping" into a secured zone? talk about an insult to "Overlord" and "Market Garden"
