Educating Service Members in a Joint Environment

I work in a unit that is comprised of service members from every military branch possible. We all work side-by-side every day but I don't think that there are all that many that appreciate just how different each branch is from the next. We all do things in different ways, have different ranks and terminology for things. With that said, it is imperative that we take the time to learn as much as we can about our brothers and sisters in arms so as to not disrespect or offend anybody. With that said, my question is, has anybody ever conducted or attended classes geared toward bridging the gap between branches and educating service members on the traditions and differences between each branch? I sat down with my supervisor and expressed my concern for the lack of respect or education of the workings of other branches and he tasked me with building a continuity binder with tabs for each branch to be filled with anything and everything you could possibly need to know about (insert branch) in one central location. Thoughts?

I went to Joint Engineer Operations Course prior to deploying. I loved it and it helped us all learn what our other services did and what assets that they have in their service. This was especially helpful, though we were not a joint headquarters my unit had both Navy and Air Force units assigned underneath us for the deployment and it helps to be able to talk the "same language" and know what resources each group brought to the fight. I wish that there was more classes like this and that we did not have to wait to be deployed and be high up (2 star level) or be way up stateside to have joint interaction and joint time. Or to wait so long to go become joint certified through school.
