It's odd how interests change over the years. MAJ (Join to see) , I believe our backgrounds are polar opposites! In high school I was very much into the physical sciences, especially chemistry, math, and physics and despised English, literature, and history . I started college as a chemistry, pre-med student. I'll skip the boring details but as I aged my interests drifted away from chemistry and medicine and I became more interested in psychology and history and focused by studies in these areas. I am especially interested in the Civil War period after reading the three volume work " The Civil War: A Narrative" by Shelby Foote. (a huge undertaking, but well worth the time if anyone is interested).

Ironically given that I'm now a biochemist, I hated math and science in highschool. At the time, I wanted to be an English/lit major when moving onto college. Actually started college that way. It wasn't until I realized that many of my favorite authors had biology backgrounds that I started taking college classes in biology in chemistry. Funny how our paths evolve.
