I started drinking coffee as a PVT E1. GOOD STUFF. "Dish water" in Mermite Cans (Soldiers & Marines will know what those are). I drink a lot of coffee. I make it w/ a Chemex glass pour-over pot. I do like good coffee & local commissary my fave German Kronung brand. Folgers French Roast will do. I like my Vietnamese filter and Brass Turkish cup from KFOR. What's your pleasure?

PO1 (Join to see) - It's just hidden away in bunting lockers and dead spaces by very sneaky, true-to-their-roots sailors!!!

SCPO (Join to see) - It's in a fan room isn't it? I knew I should have checked there but there was a sock hanging on the handle, and I about-faced out of there.

SCPO (Join to see) Oh Yea, In the winter time! After a day of shoeing horses, I cold and tired. I get the cup of Joe, and add the Malibu, what a fantastic combination. Then I melt away

Since being in the Navy, coffee is a lifeline; ship's coffee "looks like muddy water and tastes like turpentine" but that was there for us to consume as much as we wanted; saved me on mid-watches. I bought a Kruig to see about the hype. I found myself a refillable Kurig K-Cup for coffee grounds. After that I was set.
I love Folgers Vanilla Biscotti and Copper Moons Tropical Delight. Yummy stuff. I haven't had the privilege of trying the coffee outside of the country yet but I am hopeful. My buddy just got back from Italy and he said they have 1.5 hr coffee breaks (one in the morning and one in the afternoon). Who could complain about that?
Starbucks is OK but I only go there once in a blue moon and grab me a Green Tea Latte, or a Hot Green Tea; I can't spend 4-6 bucks for a medium-sized coffee. I just prefer to have my coffee at home; it's free and I can have as many cups as I want.
