How important is it to show what they would call diversity in your MOS, such as Light Infantry, Mechanized....?

Absolutely of zero importance. I've worked in shops where the majority were black. I've worked in shops where the majority were female. More often than not, I tended to be the actual minority.
The only important thing to me was whether or not you can do your job. I've worked with good Marines and I've worked with bad ones. In my line of work, if you are bad at your job, people die. That is the level of seriousness I expect from those I work with. I get to sleep at night knowing someone's death won't be on my hands. Some people don't bring that level of dedication to the table and treat it like a simple 9-5 job.

I think you misunderstood the context of my question brother. I meant different types of Infantry classifications, Light Infantry or Mechanized infantry.

Obviously, but you weren't asking about infantry classifications. You specifically asked about diversity in your MOS.

Cpl Justin Goolsby - Maybe you could expand on the kinds of diversity that are helpful and beneficial to a career in your MOS?

My old SGM just became the Infantry branch CSM. He has came down and preached diversity a few times. Light, Heavy, Drill Sergeant back to operational force. That should be about how your career path looks like.

Thanks SSG, I kind of got the short hand of the stick and had to do time in USAREC, they preach on how great this is for your career but I feel like I got screwed big time. I've been out the Line for almost 3 years and my soldiers I left behind are more knowledgeable than me at this point.

SGT (Join to see) - USAREC may not be done screwing you yet. Now that you got 79R as your secondary- may come back to haunt you in the future at the SFC boards.
