1SG (Join to see) - I'm guessing that the tourist business has improved significantly in one village in Kenya.

1SG (Join to see) - I've never been to Okinawa and that place has a very different relationship with America and its military.

The improvement I see is in business cooperation, student exchanges and just the way that I am treated wherever I go in Japan as an American.

It helps that I speak Japanese, but where 20-years-ago I got stares on the subway and the silent treatment in bars, today I feel more welcome in a Tokyo bar or Osaka cafe than I do in much of the US.
