For anyone going through Q course, will I be able to attend ALC for my current MOS in the middle of Q?

You can go to ALC first, call the Q course contact on the HRC manager page (usasoc list) you can not go once you start the Q, there is no time and it is irrelevant unless you do not finish. If you finish SFMS but not the Q and you reclass to 68W W1, SFMS counts as ALC. I have been hearing from usasoc W1s that the Q is reverting back to having SOCM in the middle of the course again. Not that it matters for your question, I'm just not sure when this will take place. Feel free to msg me with any questions about SOCM. (I got med dropped after SOCM so I didn't do the rest of the Q)

I see now you posted this in Civil Afairs,... I was talking about special forces, CA runs their Q a bit different, no SFMS but you do have CAMS. Regardless, I recommend going to ALC first because you never know what will happen later. It's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Tracking that but I'm going through SOCM as well so I'll be in a training status for two years and I have points just need to meet the NCOES requirement and didn't want to wait the two years if I don't have to. Trying to proactively achieve goals here haha.

If you go through ALC before you go, you'll go through ALC again in the Q-course. I went through 11B ALC two years before I started the Q-course, and it still says CA ALC on my certificate and the CA ALC has replaced my other ALC on my ERB.

If you want to be proactive, I would recommend Air Assault, Pathfinder, Ranger, Battle Staff, or something like that.

I spoke to them about requesting an ALC date prior to PCSing for Q course but it seems kind of up in the air. But I'll call again and make sure that they thoroughly understand my situation. Thanks.
