MSAF. Have you heard that this is due every 3 years for Officers and not with every evaluation?

Reference: 4. HOW OFTEN AM I REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE MSAF?
THE FREQUENCY OF ASSESSMENTS FOR AN INDIVIDUAL SHOULD BE BASED ON LENGTH OF TIME IN CURRENT ASSIGNMENT, CHANGES IN ASSIGNMENT AND AT LEAST EVERY, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, 36 MONTHS. THE OER WILL REFLECT WHETHER OR NOT AN INDIVIDUAL HAS COMPLETED AN MSAF EVENT (ANY COMPLETED SELF-INITIATED, PME/CES, OR UNIT EVENT IS ACCEPTED) IN THE 36 MONTHS PRECEDING THE OER CLOSEOUT DATE.

That's true. As long as the MSAF is within 3 years prior to the THRU date, it will be good to go. If you're doing something significantly different though (e.g. Company Commander vs Assistant S3), you may want to redo one to get a better sense of your leadership in this new environment.
