This directive does not open the currently closed MOS's. How do you all feel about female Soldiers serving as Infantry, Field Artillery, Armor etc.?

I've personally never had a problem with anyone serving in any career field as long as there is one set standard for that particular field and that standard can be met and maintained by the individual.

Let's stop worrying about the sex of the Soldier or other social issues and focus on wheter the person can perform the job, if they can good for them, if not move to the side and let someone qualified do it

I hear what you are saying and I honestly agree. Have you seen "The Invisible War"? I think its easy to say "let all qualified people do (insert topic)" but what about the reality involved with having a male and a female in the woods together? I know I'm over simplifying the scenario but my point is that with SHARP being so highly emphasized do you still think its a good idea? What if only one female is in the unit? Does the Army then put all qualified females in the same unit? What happens when one of the PCS, get promoted and need career progression assignments? There are so many examples/questions that I could provide but I think you get my point. Just for the record, I am not arguing against. I am merely asking questions to facilitate the discussion.

Not all females in the military want to serve in combat positions. The few that I know are supremely qualified. If they want to do the job and can complete the job with the same standards as the men, then I say let them do it.
