Wear of Combat Boots in Basic Airborne Course.

Are all AR 670-1 compliant boots authorized for student use in BAC or do they only allow the wear of the standard issue temperate weather boot? I am seeing conflicting information from what I am reading on the packing list to what I am hearing from people just coming back from jump school. Thank you in advance for your time.

When one considers that a lot of students arrive straight after BCT/AIT/OSUT. All they have are the Standard issue combat boots. The ARTB web site states: BAC students are only authorized to wear issued combat boots with no alterations. http://www.benning.army.mil/infantry/ARTB/

Yepp, that's what I was seeing too. SSG Fletcher just done with instructor duty and he said all AR 670-1 is good. I'm permanent party going there.

I'm an instructor in the 507th, only AR 670-1 compliant boots are authorized.

I'd take the packing list with a grain of salt in this case (at least back in 2014 they didn't check to make sure we brought everything). As long as you have a couple PTs, serviceable uniforms IAW AR 670-1 (to include boots), and toiletries, you'll be set. The packing list also says to bring your ACH. Don't.
