What are some of the dumber things you have experienced with the government?

Command Group purchasing $800 desks in Afghanistan, and then they spent god knows how much on fridges that we didn't have electricity routed to.... Oh and issuing $350 mountain boots to every soldier but then not allowing us to wear them... a bunch of small stuff in one brigade that makes me cringe at the thought of what goes on throughout all of government.

A commissioner refused to authorize a $300 expenditure even though the price was going to be $3000 if we didn't do it. It had to be done the only difference was a few months time. So the County spent $3000 for what could have been for $300.

Wrong guess, my friend. The Affordable Care Act has helped countless folks who otherwise would not have insurance. Have you ever been without insurance? It's a pretty scary thing.
