Can I move my family to another state while I'm stationed in another?

I'm up for PCS at the end of the year and I want to go to Huachuca for an instructor slot and my wife wants to go somewhere else. My question. Can I move them somewhere else like Ft. Campbell or Ft. Drum and still receive BAH while I'm stationed at another post? They'll be living off-post as well.

You can have your dependents live anywhere you/they want. However, you will receive BAH for the zip code where YOU are stationed. Therefore, you will likely be paying out of pocket for either them or you if your BAH doesn't cover both sets of housing costs.
Also consider Tricare; your dependents' location with regards to either a military facility or participating provider should be investigated.

The only way the dependent zip code comes into play is when a Korea tour occurs. This is where those nasty AFN commercials come into play about BAH fraud. It was funny to note that 99% of the military was honest, and they focused on the 1%.

Yes can still receive BAH with dependents. But the issue would be: making sure that they health care is staking care of with Tricare.
