Last drill I was completely blind sided with paper work explaining that I didn't meet the Retention Physical Standard to continue on in the National Guard. This drill coming up I have to clear supply and my orders for Annual Training has been revoked. Can I get some advice as far fitness concerns and other stuff I may need? Thanks

SPC Chelsea Fernandez As with a number of questions and issues similar to yours there will be a lot of good suggestions and recommendations on how to proceed, who to contact, etc and how you can 'fight' the process if you feel it is unfair. You will have to provide more details of your situation to those you feel have more insights to offer, including perhaps someone in your COC. Using the Connection private messages, emails, etc will give you an opportunity to share details and keep them private at the same time. Best wishes to you in resolving your issue..

Sometimes its not always about the money. Its about finishing what you started

I understand where you are coming from. The way I understand it, is when you retire medically, that is it. No coming back. I could be wrong, but that is what I have seen.

While I do not want to get into your medical records have you reviewed army regulation 40-501? You may have the right to contest the determination. You might have to attend a hearing for peb/meb. Make sure you CO.pare the notice you received to the regulation. I have heard some memos may not provide you all of your rights. Consult the JAG to make sure you have your legal rights.

If your in the Army, would want to go thru AW2 (Army Wounded Warrior Program). This will allow you certain protections. If you are, contact me with an email and I'll give you a POC at Walter Reed.
