Would placing the GAFPB above the Unit Crest be better on the ASU?

The GAFPB on the ASU looks ridiculous in my opinion being *below* the unit crest; it forces the crest to be near the shoulder. I personally think it would look fine on the upper breast where the unit crest is now; so essentially just swapping places with it. Good idea? Bad idea? Why bother? I personally take pride in looking sharp and to spec, but this reg just blows all that out of the water.
P.S. *No*, I do not bear this award or claim to, but I will be testing for it in July. It was just something bugging me.
P.P.S. Can I actually submit a way to get it changed if this can rack up some support? It would be a tiny revision in 670-1.

The GAFPB is a foreign award. Since it is a foreign award, it will not have a higher precedence than a U.S. military award or decoration. The order of precedence dictates, from highest precedence to lowest precedence, that your branch award/decoration is highest precedence. Next is other U.S. military awards (other branches), next are foreign awards/decorations.
In my humble opinion, if the GAFPB is to be moved, it should be moved to the right pocket and not be on the right upper breast. This would place it below all other U.S. military awards and decorations. If there is already a badge on the pocket, the award would be positioned to the wearers left of that badge, thus indicating lower precedence.

You are not required to wear this award. Your other option is to nominate a change to the uniform regulation. Good luck.

First of all, there is no reason to right-justify the GAFPB. The lapel on this cadet's uniform in comparison to his chest is small and the GAFPB will only be partially covered. It's not a picture of your mom. People will still know what it is. Once that is done, the DUI will no longer look as jacked up as is does in this picture since you have three items right justified in a stack.

COL (Join to see) additionally, Cadet Lang’s marksmanship badge appears to be placed a little too low below below the top of the pocket. The top of his badge is much lower than 1/8” below the top of the pocket.

I agree Sir. I was wearing it as instructed by my commander at the time because in 2012 there wasn't clear guidance. Please rest assured since AR 670-1 was updated I wear it properly now.
I just googled it again to see if the Pinks and Greens have updated guidance.
The whole reason we took that pic was for a blog post to talk about the lack of clear guidance on foreign awards at the time.
