I am diagnosed half way through my MED board process and am trying to have it added to my 199 and VA ratings. I just got both forms back today but does anyone know how I should proceed. My lawyer only wants a written statement but I feel I need to do more then that to have it added as an unfitting condition (I feel it is). Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Having an unfitting condition and being unfit due to a condition are different things. Just because you have been diagnosed with a syndrome, does not mean you need an MEB. I have guys in my unit with missing limbs who refused MEBs or did not seek them.

AR 635-40, Physical Evaluation for Retention, Retirement, or Separation, Should cover the procedures necessary to adding the conditions. I will try to find more specific guidance, but that is a starting point for you to find it on your own.

Since the person has started the MEB, he can request what is called an Impartial Medical Review (IMR)

The same thing happened to me.
Either my Peblo or legal write a request for an Impartial Medical Review (IMR) that I signed.
You shouldn’t need anything else if it is in your medical records.
Make sure you utilize your PEBLO and asks these questions.
