I think we have all seen "that" thread. I can't make promises but I think if we get enough support for this thread we might be able to convince the Rallypoint administrators to close/lock the "should a 2lt salute a 1lt" thread.

Let's see if we can get it gone, going to need a lot of support on this one I think, but I am willing to give it a shot.

***EDIT***
For those that feel it has important content, I am not saying we should delete it, I am simply saying try to lock it, so that no further comments or likes to comments can be made so that it doesn't continue to populate itself to the top of the discussion board. I think we can all agree that IF any education will/would have came from that thread, it has already been discussed.

I see by the numbers that I am in the minority, but here goes.

Absolutely not. Obviously, some people are interested in it, or it would be dead already.

There is no need to stifle the conversations of others just because you aren't interested or have grown bored. I see this the same as the "I don't like this show - they should cancel it" approach, rather than just changing the channel. There are plenty of discussions on RP that I am not interested in. I ignore them.

LTC Vincent Stoneking, I agree with you based on the fact that I don't believe in censorship. While not all arguments are constructive or meaningful by any means, that is no ground to stop any discussion because some people think it is garbage.

MAJ Carl Ballinger, it is up to the readers to decide the credibility of the poster. Moreover, it is up to the readers to validate the point of view or fact posted by the writer.

In this country, we get complacent with ideology spoon feeding. We, as a society, should take a more objective approach on rationalization and reasoning. We need to use our own brain instead of letting others use theirs for us.

SFC Fung. This is not personal by any means nor is it a close majority in favor of retiring it. Look to the right and see those discussions constantly at the top and in plain site.

Most discussions that have been here since the start of these threads enjoy the same exposure. And why does this matter? Because the points would accrue to those who were here first and for that reason alone.

Gentlemen,
My logic behind not closing the thread is this:
1.Since there is so much discussion it is obviously of some general concern to the community
2. Future members can go to this thread if they have the same question
3. These future members will not need to create their own thread and repeat the discussion if the thread already exists.

Thank you

My intent Sir, is to have it locked, not deleted. The thread has ran it's course and needs no further discussion. It is full of misinformation as it is, and no further opinionated responses are needed.
