I report next Monday to recruiting school. Just wanted to get an idea of what the 7 weeks there will be like. If anyone has an idea, that would be great. With that being said, I am not reclassing to be a 79R. I am being attached to a recruiting station so I need the school for that reason.

First off SGT Lewis, did you volunteer for recruiting duty, or were you drafted so to speak? From what I understand, they have relocated the RRS to Ft Knox, KY? I would think that the curriculum should be roughly the same. Try to go online and or go to a recruiting station in your area. Most recruiters or Station Commanders would be more than happy to give you the run down on what to expect. Be open minded as the 79R MOS is very different than anything you have ever done before. Go to school mentally and physically prepared. I am sure there is still a PT test involved. I asked if you volunteered because back in the day, you could request your duty station. I recall USAREC being very good about placing Sergeants where they wanted to go if they "`Volunteered". Good luck, I would try online to get a syllabus or the best way is to just drive over to your local recruiting station and get the most updated information.

1SG,
Thank you for the input. I was assigned to this duty. I'm not reclassing to a recruiter though. I will be a Chap assist attached to a recruiting station and assigned to the Chap there. So, my duties stay the same. I guess that because I need to know the language and my environment, I have to go to recruiting school but from my understanding, I won't use any of it. The chaplain does the recruiting. I just assist him/her, which is kind of why I want to know what to expect. So, nothing rides on the line for me. It'll just be an extra school for me I guess.
I do have a syllabus now and it does say that a pt will be taken during the first week. It only specifies that weeks 4-7 will be role playing but no idea what the earlier weeks will be like. I was thinking about calling recruiting stations to ask for their UMT recruiting team, if they have one.

There is a lot of great info and responses to the question I asked a few months ago on the 79R course. Take a look.

How can I best prepare for the Army 79R Recruiter Course, and what are typical days like? |...
I am leaving within the next couple of months to attend, and would like to know as much as possible. What is an average day like, what should I study, etc. I am transitioning from an Army TPU position to an AGR position.
