Also, my job screens everyone going in and out of the building for metal (fulfillment center) and no weapons are allowed. I work in a shady part of town (2 people were killed at the gas station across the street this year). I know better to NOT leave a weapon unattended in a car but I have had a gun already pulled on me... I want to carry, but can't at work... Any advice?
EDIT: Can't have ANY weapons, no pocket knives, no swiss army. Nothing... nada.... Stupid I know

As far as classes, find a NRA certified range/training facility. They can guide you in the right direction. Here's one near you:

Get a new job....
Sorry but that's about it. I have a mini-safe mounted in my Jeep for odd situations like that but I do not rely on that daily. You are facing an issue that every active duty soldier faces daily, don't carry and possibly be a victim, or carry and face courts martial, in your case, termination.
No easy answer bro

You can get a lockbox for your car if you feel comfortable with the idea, and state allows.

I will look into that, I drive a WRX and (knock on wood) that it's a big target to get broken into..... Maybe I should look into getting a crappier car :P

SPC(P) (Join to see) - I'm referring to a "mounted" lockbox. something that can't be stolen from the car itself.
Basically you lock the gun in the car before you go into work. Pull in our when you come back out.

SPC(P) (Join to see) - Try doing a google search for "car gun vault" and that will get you in the right direction. It's going to get car, gun, and person specific very quickly. Much like holsters do.
What fits my needs won't necessarily fit yours. A good under the seat container can end up working well for me, while you may be able to use a console style etc.
