If contacting your old Guard unit does not work Chief, perhaps contacting the NG Bureau for that state.

I went to the archives department of the SCARNG. They had hard copies of my 16 years in the Guard

Your records should have transferred digitally once you were accessed into the USAR. You should be able to access them in iPERMS. If not, then you need to contact your State JFHQ. I'm in global, if you contact me tomorrow, I can get you some contact info in the State you belonged to.

As a caveat, while you're contacting the state, I would also recommend that you request a closed out retirement point statement and bounce it off your USAR one to make sure that none of your points are missing. Better to fix it now, then when you're preparing to retire.

Also some of the records are at St. Louis. Had to get mine from there. State held records take longer to get, and if your looking for your DD214 it will be copies of pgs. 2&5 and they are blurry.

For the National Guard, it would be NGB 22.

SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth - I stand corrected, it definitely is the NGB22, had to look in my files.
