On 03/27/1954 I left this island & it has never been the same since. My 2 DIs had a going away party for me 3 days after I left their Platoon 22 & hoped they would never see my like again. Although I did take on our Junior DI when he challenged us to try and kick his butt. I got a black eye and swollen lip but he knew he was in a fight

It changed me forever. I was a nice kid before going there. Mostly I hated it because I didn't understand it at the time (I was a pretty high-strung kid and took it way too seriously). Damn I wish I could go back. I miss being in the company of other Marines and working with them. Semper Fi, gents!

It was about the same for me except I went in with the mind set of taking it one day at a time wich theDIs didn'n like and kept them on my butt for 7weeks. The career was good though

The DI's have a way of finding what you're all about. If you're high-strung, they know how to fix that... if you're go-with-the-flow, they know how to make you miserable too. That's their job though. Make sure you're never comfortable.

Sure you had to put up with allot of shit. But watching the DI's go off was hilarious (as long as it wasn't on you). I have good memories (as well as bad) of my time on PI.

I actually enjoyed BWT. And I got smoked for smiling at the rappel tower. Afterwards my heavy crooked his finger at me and whispered" Pretty fucking cool though, huh recruit?"

My Marine handle is Deadline, because I break things. Wolf came from childhood, I didn't like kids or kid stuff when I grew up, I spent most of my time in the woods looking at stuff/eating stuff/ watching animals. The grownups thought this was very odd behaviour and started referring to me as "that lone wolf kid" which eventually got shortened to Wolf.

Cpl (Join to see) - OK Wolf it looks like good stuff for a book or movie "A Marine Named Wolf"....I thought about writing a book about my Marine Corps years but it would only be one page; at best & the only fighting I was engaged in was in the bars in Jacksonville NC, Charlestown MA, & Boston MA.
