I will be arriving around 9 November after my transition course at Gordon. Is it possible I'll be in a hub? I'm not sure what to expect. Also does anyone at Riley recommend finding housing off-post by Milford? I have found some nice homes but I just want to make sure it won't be a nightmare every day coming through the gate.
Also, since I will be going TDY en route to Gordon then Riley after I graduate, how soon can my wife and I get a house? It'd be nice to have it squared away while I am school instead of waiting until I in-process the unit. Thanks.

I was last there in 2012 housing on post was getting better but still had a 1 yr wait. I was there for 13 months and was given a house but turned it down because I was only going to be there for 11 more months... I would recommend fining a place in Manhattan. Alot nicer closer then Milford but the trade off was the snow on the road going into ogden in the winter makes it hazardous to drive.

I left Riley about 4 years ago (still own a house there). Don't even guess what unit you'll be in until you get there. As a 25N you can end up pretty much anywhere. I lived in Junction City and liked it a lot. Its a bit of a drive to get to any kind of real night life (not that manhattan really qualifies as a night life but still) but it is nice and quite and easy access to pretty much anywhere on base.

Cool thanks Chief. We found a place near Milford in one of the newer developments off 77. Didn't really find a great place in actual JC.

I just left Riley a year or so ago and I have to say if you're going as a 25N, you'll probably end up in 1st Sustainment Brigade. If so, that mean's you're looking at 267th Signal Company.

It was certainly an experience I don't think I could ever have had anywhere else. Met some great people and received a good amount of training on the JNN and what it means to be a 25N. The good and the bad. We had a lot of time inbetween the seemingly random taskings and Riley has so many resources to take advantage of.
