New tattoo policy question: going to enlisted to officer

So, basically if you were a soldiers and had tattoos that were authorized before these new policies came into effect, those tattoos are OK. If you are enlisted and want to commission, however, you must comply with the new policies (even though your old tattoos may have been grandfathered). So, Enlisted Soldiers with any tattoos on the body locations listed in paragraph 3–3c(1) or Soldiers exceeding the limit of
four tattoos listed in paragraph 3–3c(2)(a) through (c) cannot request commissioning or appointment even if they are
grandfathered in accordance with paragraph 3–3c(3).

Do you have tattoos on the head, face, neck (anything above the t-shirt neck line to include on/inside the eyelids, mouth, and
ears), wrists, hands, or fingers? Do you have more than four visible tattoos below the elbow (to the wrist bone) or below the knee? Do you have band tattoos that are more than two inches in width below the elbow (to the wrist bone) or below the knee? Do you have sleeve tattoos below the elbow (to the wrist bone) or below the knee? Below the knee includes your feet. The size of 1 tattoo is defined as the size of the wearer’s hand with fingers extended and joined with the thumb touching the base of the index finger. A sleeve tattoo is a tattoo that is a very large tattoo or a collection of smaller tattoos that covers or almost covers a person’s arm or leg. If you answered YES to any of the previous questions, you cannot request commissioning or appointment even if they are gradfathered. If you answered NO to ALL the previous questions, then you should be OK. Definitely double check though.
