MAJ Ken Landgren Have you heard about sponsor a vet life? It allows those with PTSD, TBI... to reach out to each other and for those who feel they can help the opportunity to become advisors. Participating in it is in no way connected to the V.A. nor will it affect any benefits that someone may be receiving. If you haven't already done so, I encourage anyone who is dealing with this to check out this site. http://www.sponsoravet.life or contact COL Mikel J. Burroughs here on RP.

I think PTSD impacts us all differently. While I will agree that it does take somethings from you, it also can give you a lot too. Like many, PTSD was a factor in the dissolving of my marriage but it also made me look for new ways to do things. These new things have lead me to what I am doing now within the Veterans' sphere of Pittsburgh, Pa and nationally. I think what is critical is for those that are dealing with PTSD to do is exactly what is being done, reach out to others. Talk and listen to others.

Some of us have a gift. We are the quartering party for those with the PTSD. We tell them here is your last known point, but I will show you where to go.

My family...
My Dad (Vietnam) could not deal with it and alcohol and drugs consumed his life. Which caused a strain on everyone left behind and to this day it all still seems out of place.

I am sorry. Addiction with PTSD is a two headed monster. I had PTD and drank too much to medicate myself but the pain of my decision.
