I'm confused by your question MAJ Ken Landgren. What do you mean by "more progress is wanted"? Are you referring to treatment, identifying those with PTSD or something else?

Personally, I did feel stuck when it came to treatment but that was because I did not want to go and be labeled. It was only after talking with another Veteran after one really bad night of drinking that I finally said screw and got treatment. Since then, I been trying to pay it forward by showing not only Veterans but the general public that people with PTSD are not to be feared. We are able to work and live in the world, we just need some hand ups from time to time.

Some people think or want to improve more than they have. Job well done trying to help folks.

For me personally, I am stuck and I try to do things to progress. The thing I do now to help in progressing is to help other victims like myself. Therapy for me is a double edged sword, due to how long it took for me to finally get help. I truly believe the sooner you get help, the better.

I created a campaign as a way to help others, and in doing so to help myself.

By the time I got treatment, I was numb to everything. I had no emotions, I did not cry, I could not feel love, I could not love (even my kids). I was pretty much a robot.

After starting treatment, I tried Cognitive Processing Therapy. For me, that opened Pandora's box, and I haven't been able to close it. Mind you, it was 23 years between my military traumas and getting help. CPT did not work for me, even after attempting it twice with 2 different therapy groups.

Now I have anxiety all of the time, hyper aware when I leave the house, depression (for lots of reasons, such as no friends outside of online, no relationships since being robbed at gun point in 2004, how I have ruined my kids' lives, not being able to work a regular job anymore, etc.), anger for the same reasons as the depression, I could go on.

I want to be able to go to the store without depending on my family. I want to be able to have real relationship, but not sure how. I just want to live life, not just exist.
