This week I'm interviewing for an Electronics Mechanic position on Fort Indiantown Gap, PA and I know there will be at least one Sergeant Major there. I honestly don't know who, if anyone, else will be there. I've never interviewed for any position before and have no experience with promotion boards or anything similar. I would greatly appreciate any light shed on the process, if anyone has some.

Only speak to the subjects you fully understand. Trying to address subjects that you are minimally,if that, familiar with may come across, and rightfully so, as an attempt to bluff your way through. Be secure in the knowledge you have, speak clearly, and be precise in your answers without using words that they may not understand. That is the best advice I have to offer. Hope it helps. Best wishes. You will do fine.

If you are worried about a SGM, do your research and find out who the SGM is..
That will enable you to know something of the person that will be quizzing you. If you know something of the person, you will have an edge. You will be able to focus on his or her knowledge and this will take away the fear of the fact that they are a SGM

Thanks everyone. The interview went well, as far as I can tell. It's going to take a while for HRO to get back to me. But so far, nobody has told me no yet.
