Why don't we call Ted Cruz his real name?

It's only fair if we do. It boggles my mind how someone called Eduardo Rafael Cruz would be totally against immigration reform when he is a immigrant? You were born in Canada and lived there until you were 5 years old. You didn't give up your Canadian citizenship until 2012 when you ran for office. It's like unreal the hypocrisy.

Truth be told - he's not an immigrant. His father was an immigrant, but that doesn't make Ted one, when one of your parents is an American.

SFC Tyrone Almendarez - Forget it. The former Mexican President shot down payment for the fence and that's his main campaign promise.

CPO (Join to see) - Chief Wheeler, the military bases here in Japan are not US soil, same with Korea and essentially everywhere overseas. Embassies are US soil, that's a different ball of wax. Children born in the USNH here are US citizens based on the citizenship of their parents, not the location of their birth. The natural born thing has never been clarified by congress or the courts, it should be.
Cruz is a unique situation, because he was born in Canada, held Canadian citizenship his entire life, and likely (although he denies it now) held and traveled on a Canadian passport. He only gave up his Canadian citizenship when he decided he wanted to run for President, which indicates to me he knew damn well he wasn't eligible.

Because Hispanics aren't blowing things up or cutting off the heads of unbelievers?
Just a guess.

I am a firm believer in the fact America is the great melting pot. I enjoy experiencing new cultures and hearing different languages and learning them, it goes with the job. I consider everyone a brother or sister. I do however, have a problem with people that would force me to assimilate to their culture while in our country. I feel that most Muslims that I personally know would have it that way they actually have resentment toward America while at the same time enjoying the benefits of living in our great country .

SFC Tyrone Almendarez - WOW! 400 years. Is that in the future or a combination of past somewhere before we were a country or what?

Another overgeneralizing and factually incorrect internet meme. Say it ain't so...
But to answer the original question, he is called Ted for the same reason people called Edward Kennedy "Ted," or John Bush "Jeb," or Dwight Eisenhower "Ike" with zero uproar.

SFC Tyrone Almendarez - Hope you don't bump into my old buddy Jose, that went by the name Joe. He would probably be confused.
