Would any E6 11B like to switch drill sergeant orders to Ft. Leonard Wood?

I'm pretty sure he is asking to go somewhere else as a Drill Sergeant, not get rid of Drill Sergeant orders entirely.
I'm also assuming that you want to go to Benning. Good luck.

Why does one place matter over another? In my honest opinion, 11B DS are needed at places outside Ft. Benning. The soldiers in non-combat MOS's will benefit greatly from your tutelage and experience.

You are right sir, but it would be easier on my family if we closer to the east coast. I am only going on the assumption that I will be gone for long periods of for two years and home only to sleep.

I obviously can't answer as an 11B or a SSG, but I can tell you that you will enjoy your time at Fort Leonard Wood. The post is smaller than most and the quality of life for the family is excellent. The FMWR always has something going on for the family, and if you like the outdoors there are few places I can think of with better fishing, hinting, mountain bike riding etc. Housing off post is very reasonable, and I believe wait lists for on post are fairly short. It is a bit of a drive to the mall in Springfield, but Rolla is just up the road and it is a wonderful little city. Good luck.

Thank you for the information. And we will certainly make the best of it when we get there.

I have been here for 4 years, not sure if I got lost in a the system somewhere, however, I have really enjoyed this place after avoiding it for 12 years. It is not as bad as the rumors say, now if you like night clubs and high end social events, its definitely not the happening spot but as a drill I am confident that you will not want to be out in the same clubs as the privates anyhow.

I really hope you are asking to be a DS, and not trying to give that opportunity up.

I am looking forward to being a Drill Sergeant. Just looking to see if anyone wanted to switch locations.
