I retire in just over a year and have a guy that I can start a really good sought after business with in the local community. The problem is it looks lie we are going to need close to a million bucks to start this. What avenues of funding are available to veterans to assist with starting a business?

Since you aren't going to get to $1M overnight, and you can file to incorporate for just a few hundred, why don't you create the business shell, open a bank account for it, and each put in a few hundred. Before the year is up you'll know a lot more about your potential partner.

Based on the dates of this original post, you must be getting close to retiring. Have you made any progress on your venture?

CPT Robert Louthan might be able to help, too.

Be sure to work out all the partnership nuances first. Check out this article...http://vetlaunched.com/5-reasons-always-business-partner/ or http://vetlaunched.com/5-reasons-never-business-partner/
