I joined up & used Student Loan Repayment, sacrificing MGIB, but was told Post 9/11 would still be open. Since then, VA officials have given well reasoned, but conflicting information about my P9/11 eligibility with respect to SLR. I need an MBA so I did the formal Post 9/11 eligibility through the VA's ebenefits website & it says I am eligible at 100%. Still, I'm skeptical. Dare I believe it?

I'd suggest you chat with a representative of the SVO or Vet Success on Campus (VSOC).

I used SLRP on my initial contract of three years and will have 100% Post 9/11 GI Bill after three more years. For example, I currently have been in for 5.5 years and am sitting at 90%. In July, I will be at six years and 100%.

I have always been told if you took student loan repayment you forfeit MGIB, but still qualify for post 9/11. I hope that is the case, because it is my situation.

I was told that as well; and told the opposite and so on.

A few months ago I called the VA and a call center supervisor (because the poor guy who 1st answered my call was utterly confused by my situation) told me, the SLR covered my initial 3 year Active contract and Post 9/11 could not be counted concurrently with SLR. She said caution me by saying that she couldn't definitively say I was not qualified for Post 9/11 and that I should go through the formal determination process online, which I did. After a couple months, I saw under my Education Benefits section within ebenefits.va.gov website, that I did have eligibility under Post 9/11. So even with it clearly stated as an eligible benefit of mine, I question it's accuracy and I'm reluctant to celebrate.
