Looking forward to being part of something a bit different. I am considering dropping an application for USASOC before my tour ends in two years. Any advise would be appreciated. Links, other resources, etc. If you feel more comfortable messaging me, then feel free. Keep it unclassified!! Thanks leaders and teammates.

Please let me know what the hell that process is. Was in USASOC for 9 years, took a knee, was supposed to go to 10th at carson, got stuck with recruiting. I knew there was a slating board a few years ago but haven't been able to find out a damn thing recently. Anyone i tried to contact had no clue what i was talking about.

You need to do a two prong approach: 1) contact your Branch Manager at HRC and 2) the USASOC Strenght Manager. You need to understand that the 1st one will attempt to assign you to wherever your skill level is required based on the manning cycle's requirements for that particular time frame. Therefore your need to check with USASOC G1 (or subordinate unit). On a note, most of the time HRC will win over a by name request, so be advised and prepared. Good luck!

Thank you Sir. I just want to be sure you understand where I'm coming from. I actually want to go through the actual application process, interview, etc. Go to Airborne school, SERE, etc. I'm not thinking about just contacting HRC and seeing if they have a slot. But I'm not sure how it all works, am I supposed to contact HRC to get the application started? I don't know. This is where I need somebody to get in touch with me. Anybody have USASOC Strength manager's number?

Ok, for what you just stated you are looking for something else than just an assignament into a unit and go to work! Also, what do you mean with "when your tour ends in 2 years"? ETS or DEROS? An assignament -very liberal with his definition- might inquir at least 3 years of utilization. Please send me your DoD email so we can communicate a bit more about the issue.

MAJ Javier Rivera - [login to see] . Tour ending I meant DEROS. I plan on staying in at least until I'm eligible for retirement in 9years if not even longer.

Get after it bro, most folks "self non-select" by doubting their capability, and others think they will crush it, just do your best and understand you are going to be a part of a no fail no questions asked environment. Good luck, and get some
