I'm sure a lot of other SGT(P)'s fall into this category. I've been promotable for 13 months, I've received a school date for ALC Residence Course (January '14), but I can't get Common Core. With the new ALARACT message out stating that starting with the new Fiscal Year, anyone with a reservation that doesn't have Common Core will be re-scheduled, what can I do in the meantime to stop that from happening? I'm also currently deployed at the moment, and would love nothing better than to knock out SSD3 and Common Core while I'm out here, but it seems impossible, and I feel pretty helpless. I'm sure others in my situation feel the same way, and it sucks. I feel like I'm being held back in my Career Advancement, and it's no fault of my own that The Army won't allow me to do what I need to get done.

Thanks for the input all....I ended up getting enrolled in and finishing SSD2, so I'm in the clear.

Thanks all. I've already talked to my Schools NCO, and he told me the same story that everyone else in my position gets: That CC is backlogged and enrollment is based on priority, i.e. the SFC's and SSG's that haven't completed it yet. I just hate the fact that my progression is on hold because of Senior NCO's that don't have the initiative to get it done, and are taking seats away from young, hungry NCO's. If having CC didn't affect my enrollment in ALC Resident Phase I wouldn't mind as much, but I had to fight just to get that seat, and now it's going to be taken away from me.

Your Schools or Training NCO depending on your unit is the one who enrolls you in ALC CC. Since you are deployed you may have to contact your Rear D.
