Promoted to SGT in 2013 and have not been to BLC/WLC yet. Is demotion/reduction of rank to SPC possible?

My wife is in the CA National Guard and got promoted to SGT on October 2013, before it was a requirement to complete BLC/WLC in order to get promoted. She just returned from deployment in August 2015 and her unit still hasn't sent her to BLC yet. Now all of the BLC spots are being given to SPC and SPC (P). Will she be demoted now if she does not complete BLC within a certain time period or does the "grandfathered in" rule apply?

Recommend you have your wife light fires (almost to the point of literally lighting a fire) under her CoC's 6's and have her get slotted before she loses rank.

This is not my opinion. This is how it is. Somebody is really dropping the ball here. The school house should know this as well. ATTRS shouldn't be taking SPC and SPC(P) before SGTs.

I'm actually in BLC right now in ft. Campbell and SPC(P) and SPC in a leadership position have priority over a E-5

When does a Specialist, even in a leadership position, have priority over a SERGEANT?

Deferment due to deployment is a legit reason but i wouldn't put off going to WLC any further her Chain of command needs to arrange it.
