What are some benefits of having a bad soldier?

You learn a lot about leadership from those most difficult to lead.

I was a brand new NCO with all the apples no one wanted in the platoon. I became really good at regulations and writing counselings! It was very stressful and time consuming at but overall as time went on I became very knowledgeable about a lot of different tactics these SAID APPLES would try to use. I say it builds the confidence of an Nco and it's pretty much a rite of passage: either you sink or swim.

You learn a lot about yourself as a leader as well as how to handle all kinds of situations. Additionally, you learn how to navigate a lot of military disciplinary actions which will serve you well later on in your career.
