If male Soldiers have to remain clean shaved even when on leave in order to keep a professional look (correct me if I'm wrong) should female Soldiers have to keep their hair and make up as If they are in uniform. If I can't let my hair out then should they be able to let their hair down.

I was at an acquisitions course at Fort Belvoir this week. On the second day I woke up and immediately went to shave out of habit.. then realized I was wearing business attire. So, no shaving that day! Ah, small victories.

I have light hair anyway - takes sunlight to even see if I haven't shaved that day.

I wore business attire at London as my Uniform of the Day I suspect Major Ballinger is right. They would not have taken kindly to me not shaving.

Wow I got out in October 2011 and the whole time I was in they encouraged men to grow out their beards and such when on leave so they wouldn't be identified as military as a form of OPSEC. This is news to me. I personally think that men don't need to shave when off duty and women can let their hair down.
