Soldier got promoted to SGT on November 1, 2015. Soldier hasn't completed BLC yet. Is there a timeframe in which BLC needs to be completed?

You are supposed to complete BLC within a year of your date of rank.

It's a year. If I had it my way you would get pinned SGT during graduation of BLC. That's the way it should be.

I completed WLC way back in August 2012 when I was in active duty (1-5 infantry, ft. Wainwright). I ETS'd and went national guard, changed MOS, etc. I always maintained height/weight, good PT scores, and I have a bachelor's degree. I just got offered an E-5 slot this week.

I can't speak on National Guard issues. I was in the Ohio National Guard for about 5 months back in 2001 when I ETS'd from active duty (82nd ABN DIV). I never saw so many E-4's in my life. I ended up getting out and going into the IRR for 3 years before joining the Reserves. There's funding issues in the guard and reserves. It sucks.

SSG(P) Joshua DeGraw, I was Ohio Army National Guard for 6 years back from 99 to 05, it wasn't that bad. lol. Could have been worse though. The national guard does have pay problems but it is also the fact that they can only have MTOE and nothing more. so you will see 20 year E-4's, but to get 5 you have to have someone get out in your MOS or they die. only so many slots per division. At least that is the last I heard.
