I am interested in put together a packet for WOCS. However I have a permanent profile for my legs. I can still do that APFT walk. Will this disqualify me from acceptance into this course? If not, will my being on profile hinder my career going forward as a warrant officer?

The injury does not have to be combat related however, must be under extraordinary conditions/circumstances (Being combat related is an example of extraordinary circumstances). If you head over to the WO Recruiting site, we provide info on the APFT waiver. Be advised that the permanent profile must be reviewed w/in 12 months of the board, and state you can run at own pace and distance, and ruck up to 10km w/48 lbs. if you have any questions, feel free to contact me at [login to see]

Hello chief,
I'm trying to build my OCS packet, however I do have a permanent profile. It say I can run my own pace and ruck 5 miles. Do you know any waivers related to that?

I am getting alot of push back even from Senior Warrants stating APFT ETP is not acceptable. I am asking to see if there is any milpers, regulation or memo that can assist them in verifying i am not making this up. Currently deployed overseas.

The only authorized alternate event for the APFT is the 2.5 Mile Walk (with an approved Army G 3/5/7 waiver).
AR 40-501, Standards of Medical Fitness, Chapter 4. Check it out on USAPA.

Per AR 350-1, paragraph 3-13j(3), Candidates applying to WOCS or OCS must pass the standard three-event APFT as a enrollment requirement. An exception to policy may be granted by HQDA DCS, G3/5/7 for a permanent profile to the running event only. The exception only allows the Soldier to apply to compete for entry into WOC or OCS school. The permanent profile must be a result of extraordinary circumstances.

CW2 Diaz, would extraordinary circumstances be defined as injuries received in combat or something on that level?

This state is from the recruiting website, my current command is not taking that as a authority to say an APFT ETP is acceptable they are asking for a MILPERS, REG or memo that says I can submit a ETP for walking profile. Currently deployed overseas
