I recently recruited an outstanding young woman as a 68P (Radiology Specialist). She doesn't ship to Basic/AIT until June of 2016 and is currently enrolled at a local community college taking core classes. She and I are trying to figure out if it benefits her to take classes in the Spring semester or to take the semester off as I have not been able to find out what credits her AIT will cover. Anyone that has any knowledge of what a 68P ATTRS transcript will look like please share! Thank you!

Since she has some time before ship date, I would like to advise her to take General Education requirements for her A.A. Degree focusing on non-science courses like college composition, history, humanities, etc. Once she graduates from her AIT which is 46weeks long, because METC program is not accredidated by ARRT yet, she would need to complete Associates degree before she can test out for ARRT registry. She would then have to forward her transcript to any college that she wants to acquire from and have them evaluate requirements. My soldiers contacted Thomas Edison university. They would allow most of courses to CLEP out except a couple of classes. Last time I checked, they had about 7-8 classes to complete before AA degree. I can ask my soldiers a copy of their eval so that she can get an idea if you would like.

Here is an update. My soldier got credit for following. 15 Credit Hours.
Self Defense and Use of Force AOJ-114, 1 Cr, From AR22010399[Basic training]
Cardiopul Resus & Adv. FirstAid, HEA-190, 4 Cr, From AR07020035 [AIT Phase I]

Rad Exposure & Processing, RDL-131, 3 Cr, AR07090086 [AIT Phase II]
Rad Anatomy & Positioning, RDL-141, 3 Cr, AR07090086 [AIT Phase II]

Under ASAST in Medical Imaging program, Proposed requirement for graduation is as follows;

Intellectual and Practical Skills Category (total 15 Cr)
English Comp 1, 3 Cr, can CLEP/DANTES
English Comp 2, 3 Cr, can CLEP/DANTES
Oral Comm, 3 Cr, can CLEP/DANTES
Information Literacy, 3 Cr, can CLEP/DANTES
College Algebra, 3 Cr, can CLEP/DANTES

Civic and Global Learning Category (Total 9 Cr)
Diversity, 3 Cr, can CLEP/DANTES
Ethics, 3 Cr, can CLEP/DANTES
Civic Engagement, 3 Cr, can CLEP/DANTES

Human Cultures and the Physical and Natural World Category (total 14 Cr)
Human Cultures, 6 Cr, can CLEP/DANTES
Phys I w/Lab, 4 Cr, cannot CLEP/DANTES
Anatomy and Phys I w/Lab, 4 Cr, cannot CLEP/DANTES

Medical Imaging Curriculum (total 21 Cr)
Radiation Physics, 3 Cr, cannot CLEP/DANTES, (credit received from AIT)
Medical Imaging Electives, 15 Cr, cannot CLEP/DANTES, (credited from AIT)
Associate Capstone - APS-295, 3 Cr, cannot CLEP/DANTES

Free Electives (1 cr)
Military Science, 1 Cr, cannot CLEP/DANTES (credited from BCT)

Total 60 Cr required, 19 Cr acquired through military, 41 Cr remaining

Since IET soldiers can start utilizing Tuition Assistance 1 year from the graduation date of AIT, my soldiers are getting requirements done through CLEP and DANTES until they become eligible to use TA.

I highly recommend getting Physics I w/lab and Anatomy and Physiology I w/lab done before shipping out because, for active duty soldiers, available science classes w/lab are extremely limited depending on duty stations.

Hope this helps.

Start doing PRT now! Don't show up to BCT not being able to do push ups and sit ups. It will make your life much easier. There's so much info out there, utilize it.
