I already know the regulatory answer. I'm looking for discussion on why it should or should not be an EO issue. Substantiated IG complaints will only be placed in your records, but a substantiated EO complaint can potentially end your career. Should sexual orientation be a protected category under EO or is IG sufficient?

It was inevitable that this went to EO. It is the army's way of ensuring that people are not discrimated against for having differing views just like religion. I don't see how it differs from religious discrimination in regards to your question.

In the more than one year since this topic was posted, sexual orientation has now become one of the six protected categories under EO, so yes, it's an EO issue.
