I think since we've already had casualties in that war it might be a good idea to declare war on ISIS. That's the only way we can get rid of those snakes for good. I've read that, and I believe that. As long as it's fought by the military and not the politicians, we stand a good chance of eradicating ISIS. That will be a glorious day when that happens.

Two House lawmakers on Thursday introduced a measure to authorize military force against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), making it the first bipartisan and bicameral measure to do so.
Reps. Scott Rigell (R-Va.) and Peter Welch (D-Vt.) introduced the legislation, a companion bill to a measure in the Senate offered by Sens. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) and Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.).
It would expire after three years unless reauthorized, repeal the Iraq War authorization for the use of military force (AUMF) and be the sole authorization for the war against ISIS.

It is about time, we need the legislators to actually declare war verses Presidental unilateral action.

I'm tired of our troops having to go back and fourth on deployments, and I'm sure they're tired of it too. Especially the ones with families.

SGT (Join to see) the fact that lawmakers on Thursday introduced a measure to authorize military force against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) seems like good news.
Bicameral legislation introduced by Democrat and Republican in each chamber of congress [Reps. Scott Rigell (R-Va.) and Peter Welch (D-Vt.) introduced the legislation, a companion bill to a measure in the Senate offered by Sens. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) and Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.)] with a sunset clause that the bill would expire in 3 years.
I am glad the sunset provision was included so that the legislation would expire after three years unless reauthorized, repeal the Iraq War authorization for the use of military force (AUMF) and be the sole authorization for the war against ISIS.
It would be great if many more programmatic bills had sunset clauses.

LTC Stephen F., Do you think these bills will pass, and if they do, do you think Obama will go with it or veto it?

SGT (Join to see) I think it the current climate these bills may pass; but, I doubt the votes would be veto-proof. POTUS Obama may do the mental calculus to see that signing this legislation is a win-win for him because it contains a sunset clause and seems in line with part of his speech last Sunday when he called on V+Congress to act.

I agree with these lawmakers. It is past time to put serious hurt on ISIS.

It's way past time IMO, Sgt (Join to see). I'm ready for some kick butt, take no names.
