College is worth 2 points per semester hour instead of 1 Pt is worth 180 points instead of 160. If you haven't already take your joint service transcript to the ed center and have it converted into college credits should be like 40 hours just for your military training

Correct, and I would have to double check but I think you get 10 points if you get your degree while on active duty

I agree in a way that it is. Getting an education shows that you want to better yourself not just as a soldier but as a person on general. The part of it that I disagree with, I'm planning on making a career of the military as a Cavalry Scout and a college degree isn't going to improve my Scout Skills.

I want to stay enlisted, and yes your right it will give you an advantage come promotion time. My issue with it is I see to many people getting degrees in stuff completely irrelevant to their job in the army and then they get promoted. I just don't agree with that. Generally, a degree in agriculture isn't going to make some better at their job in the military but it somehow makes them more capable of moving up to the next rank. See my point of view?

SGT (Join to see), please don't take my comment the wrong way but.... Why are you just now worrying about getting to BLC and getting promoted? I don't know your situation or background, however, I see a lot of junior Soldier's that want to "blame the system" instead of doing what is necessary to get promoted. Promotions are given out at the CSMs door they are earned by your initiative and potential. Waiting until you reach your RCP to decide you want to be promoted isn't the Army's problem, especially since we are in an era of downsizing.
