Before my mother passed we were sitting at the breakfast table and she said, "Mike, nobody can kill someone and it doesn't bother them." I said, "Mom, you just met one. I've never lost a wink of sleep over it." I never lied to my mother as an adult, but I might have that time. The story about how time stands still and you can remember details in nanoseconds is true; even after decades have passed. And, I otherwise have a terrible memory.

I come from a family of soldiers I never served due to medical issues
My family did not talk about this topic
I feel this difficult time is important to talk about cause many civilian really don't know what it is all about
Today I heard only one percent of the population serve in today's volunteer armed forces I think that it should be like some other countries where individual should honor their country by giving two years service not necessarily in the military but as an acknowledge that they have some skin in the game of what makes America great
Our ability to be free
Love to all
