"I believe that the world is a safer and a better place when the United States is the strongest military power in the world," Rubio said.

Personally, I believe there were multiple candidates who had strong showings and two who had really poor showings. I don't think Trump is the right man for the job. I think that his support is going to fade. He always seems to talk to a group/topic and then comment, "which I love." I find this to be weak and not genuine. I don't think Carson is fit for POTUS either. I like him as a person, but I find his demeanor to be rather bland. He doesn't seem to make a strong candidate and we need that. If I had to pick who would run, I'd go for Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. I think they would make an incredible team. I like their stance on the economy, national security, and education. I feel the two of them could really do some good and unite conservatives. I'm not as impressed with the rest of the candidates.

I may be prejudiced (hell, I am prejudiced) but I believe that those of us who serve/have served are more perceptive when it comes to recognizing true leadership and I, for one, am not seeing true leadership qualities in either Trump or Carson (who exist at the polar extremes on the likeability scale). Rubio and Cruz come the closest, don't they?

In reality you should which candidate won the debate. The ultimate winner should always be the American people since we're the ones that have to elect a candidate and hope that they follow our wishes.

It would be hard for me to say who won, these formats are a little challenging since they are so large. The winner, for sure, was the debate process. After the last train wreck debate on MSNBS, FOX Business was able to get the train back on the rails.
There are only two that continue to shrink, in my opinion and those are Bush and Kasich. I think both are internal party candidates and they look/act like it to me.

The failure of Bush and Kasich does tend to illustrate the disconnect between the leadership of the GOP and its base
